HENRY’S GYMNASIUM

A Gym That Matches the Neighborhood’s Energy

Character isn’t something the Central District lacks, and Henry’s Gymnasium on Capitol Hill fits right into that instead of fighting it. It’s a short trip from the CD, and nothing about it feels sterile or interchangeable. Premium strength and cardio equipment, a full Recovery Suite, and a room that feels more like a hangout than an obligation, that’s the baseline.

The Recovery Suite covers a Finnish sauna, cryo-sauna therapy, red-light therapy, and hydromassage. A full-service bar handles smoothies, pre- and post-workout drinks, beer, and wine. Affordable. Inclusive. Built for a neighborhood that doesn’t do anything halfway.

Real Equipment, Real Recovery

Nothing about the equipment lineup feels dated. Top-of-the-line strength and cardio machines, Olympic weights, free weights, and machines you’re not standing in line for, all kept current.

Just as much attention goes into the Recovery Suite. A Finnish sauna, infrared salt sauna, red-light therapy, cryo-sauna therapy, and Hydromassage cover heat, cold, or both in the same week. Recovery isn’t bolted onto the gym here, it’s built into it.

When the workout’s over, a smoothie, protein drink, beer, or glass of wine is waiting at the full-service bar. Take your time with the more than 300 pieces of framed historical art and murals by local artist Izaya Colson while you’re there. This is a place worth sticking around in, not just clocking in and out of.

Rooted in the Community

Every shape, size, color, creed, and orientation is welcome at Henry’s Gymnasium, and in a neighborhood with as much history as the Central District, that commitment to inclusion carries extra weight.

Mary’s Place. Lambert House. Organizations doing meaningful work, and ones we’re proud to support. That same respect for community runs through the art on display, with murals and framed pieces that add something real to the space rather than just filling wall space.

Music, local partnerships, community events, something’s regularly on the calendar. Social media is where to keep up.
