HENRY’S GYMNASIUM

The Gym Worth Leaving the Water For

There’s an ease to Westlake’s waterfront pace that’s easy to get comfortable in. Henry’s Gymnasium exists for the days you want to break out of that. Close by in Lower Queen Anne, it’s housed in a building dating to 1909, originally used to train blacksmiths on Model T Fords. What runs inside it now has nothing to do with that history: a nightclub sound system, more than 300 pieces of framed historical art, and murals by local artist Izaya Colson.

Premium strength and cardio equipment fills the floor, and the Recovery Suite backs it up with a Finnish sauna, cryo-sauna therapy, red-light therapy, and hydromassage. A full-service bar serves smoothies, pre- and post-workout drinks, beer, and wine. Affordable, inclusive, and entirely its own thing.

Serious Equipment, No Attitude

Top-of-the-line strength and cardio machines. Olympic weights. Free weights. Weight machines that are actually maintained, not just installed and forgotten. That’s the baseline at Henry’s. Where the gym really earns its reputation is the Recovery Suite. A Finnish sauna, infrared salt sauna, red-light therapy, cryo-sauna therapy, and Hydromassage mean there’s a real way to recover no matter what your body needs that day. Showing up for recovery becomes the default here, not the exception.

The full-service bar is waiting when you’re done, with a smoothie, protein drink, beer, or glass of wine. The training gets you through the door. The atmosphere is why people come back.

A Community, Not Just a Membership

Every shape, size, color, creed, and orientation is welcome at Henry’s Gymnasium, and that’s visible in who’s actually training here day to day, not just written somewhere as a mission statement.

Organizations doing real work get our backing, Mary’s Place, and Lambert House among them. Music and art carry that same commitment forward, and the murals and framed pieces throughout the gym reflect it.

Something is always happening, from live music to community partnerships. Follow us on social media to keep up with what’s next.
